DOLPHIN SPOTTING

1st Jan,2008 started on a very good note for us.We were in Goa where we celebrated the onset of the New Year. Our Taxi Driver told us of a beach where we could spot DOLPHINS.Yes , you heard right ! DOLPHINS in Goa (SEE VIDEO)

Coco Beach let us explore the cutest creature,I think in the whole world. We took off in a medium sized steamer boat to a few kilometers into the see. It was a wonderful day with a sunny sky, cool breeze and the smell of the fresh sea.All around COCO beach are many more Coconut trees and many more cliffs where you can see some exciting manmade structures.

Catch a glimpse of these - Central Jail with a scenery for the prisoners to die for-top left picture, the diamond merchant's posh villa and the Light House atop the Fort Aguada.(SEE SLIDE SHOW)

While we were screening the waters, we heard a cry and saw a small dolphin swim out of the waters in its characteristic aerodynamic style and dive in. WOW! Splendid was the only reaction I had. It had a perfect slim face with a long nose and those pretty eyes and that pinkish charm that made this animal , the cutest ever.

Three More we spot as they glide in and out of the waters in perfect harmony and in sync with each other. We were mesmerized. The other time , I felt overjoyed was when I had seen the Panda for the first time in China.I could not believe my eyes , I was spotting a dolphin in free natural surroundings.

Then , the ultimate event happens. One DOLPHIN jumps out of the water and twice dives down like an angle.Oh my God..!! I told myself, my journey to Goa was complete!!

Valentine's Day Dhamaal

VALENTINE'S DAY 14TH FEB,07- THE LOVE DAY. We had a few good pups visit our place.KALU and KUTKUT(SEE VIDEO).
KALU - The quiet male who was as black as he gets and hence the name. And KUTKUT-the naughty female darling who messed around with anything that came her way and scrambled for attention at all times.

I obviously came up with this brilliant idea to give my brother and my hubby this wonderful Valentine's Day present! I corresponded with my friend and he referred me to another. This couple were passionate dog lovers and that also seemed to be the reason they got married. All thanks to them, that love night we got home these babies ...KALU AND KUTKUT,two black bhutias-furry,noisy,naughty,cute.
As they came, we were thrilled-running around and biting at everything possible. We brought them home- fussed over them, ran behind them, and just about had all possible fun we could.I have this old stuffed dog which all dogs in our family have had the royal pleasure of biting into and Kalu and Kutkut too did(SEE VIDEO).
We prepared a bed for them under the chairs in my brother's room and snuggled them up together. It took them a while to accustom themselves to this new kennel but soon jumping over each other, fighting , tugging at the sheets , they were tired and soon retired to a DOGGY Sleep.
Morning, all I could hear was a puppy bark and KUTKUT came running to me like a black furry ball in action. Fed them, snuggled them, hugged and kissed and then had to say goodbye.
I would say the way we bonded as family because of these lovely creatures and their playful actions , we could never forget what a beautiful valentine day gift they were.

The Corbett Adventure

This was a wonderful trip. Just me , my better half and the vast expanse of the corbett jungle. We are there one day ..amidst the likelihood of spotting the KING OF THIS JUNGLE-THE TIGER.The thrill of reaching Corbett was probably as high as awaiting a murder to happen in a Sherlock Holmes novel. He could cross your way, jump over your jeep, be spotted on the river bank or even roar!!

It was fantastic..we saw a herd of deer cross us umpteen number of times..When up on the Machaan-see pic , Corbett looked like a fairy tale venue. It was Green, Big , Lively , Still at the same time, Lush and Just Beautiful.I was atop the jeep and so was Jaanu. Looking out for the Beautiful Beast we wanted to see..It was elusive ..yet we knew he could be anywhere.

At the start of the trip , I felt looey ..asked for a washroom but in vain. Had seen a lot of horror stories so when I found a regal bathroom in the open, I felt scared. If I was pounced upon by the KING what would I do.Obviously nothing like that happened , and we ventured into the untreaded space once again.

We saw a monitor lizard, a tailor bird's nesting tree, deer, wild cats but the KING remained elusive..

We will visit again to catch his glimpse ..we know he will find us ..and when he does I am sure we will have to use the loo again ..!!
